Support and Training for Vulnerable Adults

We are proud to be the original "Widemarsh Team

Our team of workers, with varying difficulties learn skills to enable them to gain confidence, self-worth and valuable skills leading towards a work placement or volunteering.

The skills they learn:-

  • Workshop health and safety, the use of personal protection equipment (PPE)

  • Safe use of hand tools and their correct uses

  • Joining our training programme, leading to gaining valuable skills and eventual certification (CPD)

  • Learn from the history of former furniture makers by repairing and re-furbishing items

  • Going into the community to collect items for repair and re-delivering at a later date, meeting customers and receiving compliments for the work you have done.

  • Our refurbishing program includes removal of benches and garden items, bringing them back to our workshop.

  • Learning how to select the correct timbers and preparing them for use (cutting, sanding, painting and polishing)

  • These are all of the skills you will need to learn to be able to eventually (if you wish) take up employment or work experience within local firms and become a valuable member of their team and gain confidence and praise for the skills you have learnt

  • We are totally dedicated to re-cycling items to save them from landfill, putting them back into use.

  • We thrive on challenges should you have a project that you would like us to undertake

  • If you have an interest in shop work, you could join our sales team in our own shop where you will learn skills in sales, customer assistance, display, pricing and order taking.

Should you wish to join us or for more information, please contact us via telephone, or email from the contact page.
